The kids go to Hollywood

Banana benders go to bed early because the sun gets up before morning!!! I was awoken at 5.30 by this stream of light that came blaring in my bedroom window. The sunlight was accompanied by the sounds of birdlife. Here’s an idea. How about Queenslanders learn the merits of day light saving. Plenty of light in the evening and you get to wake up at a reasonable hour.

Our first day’s outing was up to movie world. We hopped on the bus that stopped outside our resort and zipped our way up to Movie World. ACW and I had been here before – and it was raining, so some of the rides were closed. This time round, the Lethal Weapon was closed for maintenance, but we were able to do everything else.

H10 was a real trouper. She went on every ride including the Superman Escape and loved every one. Well nearly every one. Like the rest of us, it will be a cold day in hell before you get us back on the Scooby Doo ride. C7 was so traumatised by it that he barely went on any but the most gentle of rides for the rest of the trip. H10 was pretty good about it though and went on the baby rides with him…

Even though she thought they were pretty lame….

 But even H10 drew the line at the Speedy Gonzales taxi service. C7 wouldn’t get off…

 

While he was going round and round at less than walking pace, H10 discovered the Wile E Coyote Rocket ride. I think she must have ridden that one about 10 times.

At lunch time, we managed to get front row in the Stunt Driver Show. We all thought this was great, until C7 started howling. He thought the gun fight was real and was terrified…

This is the Superman Escape ride. 45 minutes waiting in line for 40 seconds of ride. 0-100km/h in less than 2 seconds. Straight up and straight down. Even ACW was shaking when they came off that ride!

We rounded off the day with a visit to the Icecream shop. They were selling Scooby Doo bowls with 5 serves of icecream, whipped cream, nuts and cherry on top. It went down a treat on a fairly warm day. C7 offered to clean the bowl, so we could tak it home…

And then they kicked us out it was time to go home.

One upon a time, when a vehicle needed repairs, there were two mechanics looking at the motor and scratching their heads (ACW and his brother). Now there’s an apprentice. He just needs to get close enough to be part of the action.
