My World – Lipson Cove

I shouldn’t really be telling you this, so you have to promise not to tell anyone else about Lipson Cove. Okay, promise?

Lipson Cove is situated about halfway between Tumby Bay and Port Neill. It’s not a town, it’s a location. There is nothing here except for some long drop toilets. And you can’t actually see it from the highway and there’s only a little sign to indicated it’s existance. But it is pretty. Really pretty.  It is set up for caravans and camping and you can just make out a few caravans set up in this picture:

There is an island very close to the shore line and at low tide you can walk out to it, just remember not to get trapped!

There is also a sand bar that gives an enclosed wading area for small children

The area is well marked out with specified paths to the beach from the camping ground so as not to damage the delicate coastal environment.

But remember, you promised not to tell anyone 😉

Back home again to check out the hot hot weather. And that means Total Fire Bans are in place. We have had a week of 30+ this last week ranging from 44C last Tuesday, dipping to 30 on Thursday and then creeping up to 41 yesterday (Monday). Thank goodness our town has a pool!!  We have been lucky, with only one major bushfire reported during the last week on Eyre Peninsula. The fire came very close to Port Lincoln (again!) but fortunately, this time there was only loss of property and no loss of human life. Click here for images

Hey Guys, glad you like Lipson Cove – I live there on my husbands farm. we LOVE it too! Unfortunately it is under threat from a proposed iron ore export facility, grain shipment facility, desalination plant, bitumen road, grain storage, iron ore storage…you name it! we need all the help we can get, the proposed site is adjacent (887 metres) from the Island. If it goes there it will NEVER be the same. Just thought you should know 😦
